ELIAS - IN YOUR DREAMS TUTORIAL- HOW TO templates and masks

Photobucket

click on the image to see the full size...
..........................................................................
For this tag I am using the fantastic artwork of Elias Chatzoudis
you can purchase tubes from PTE HERE
template 18 by Scrapity Scrap HERE
Mask 53 by Weescotslass HERE
Gradients of choice I used Berry by Nanson HERE
other great resources for gradients are Deviantart or Michelle's
plugin - VM TOOLBOX - GRID
........................................................
UNZIP SUPPLIES
open up template 18

add a new layer floodfill with white and send this layer to the bottom
by going to Layers -  arrange - send to bottom

copy and paste close up images side by side then apply the mask by weescotlas number 53

see preview below
Photobucket
once happy - merge group by going to Layers - merge - merge group

then in your material pallette choose the tab gradients and find the one called mqcberry check your settings are the same as mine below and click ok
Photobucket
then make the slats layer the active layer, now floodfill the slats with this gradient.

go to selections none

repeat for the rectangles with the same gradient

then with the rectangles still selected

add more close up tubes  on new layers to cover the rectangles,
then go to selections invert and while the tube is the active layer hit delete the remove the excess.

selections none

change the blend mode to screen by going to layers - properties - change the blend mode from normal to screen

select the berry gradient rectangles again by going to selection - select all - float and then
apply the filter to the gradient rectangle layer by going to Effects - plugins - VM Toolbox - grid and apply the following settings -  you want the grid size approx 25
Photobucket
then duplicate this layer and move it above the tube layers
then change the blend mode from normal to screen
you should now have something that looks like this ....
Photobucket
now make one of the circles the active layer go to selections -  float and copy and paste your close up  tube as a new layer then go to selections invert and hit the delete key to remove the excess

selections none

repeat for the other circle

you should have something that looks like this so far..
Photobucket
now add the main full length tube and resize by 80% using resize and add a drop shadow then slide this layer below the circles

Then write out the text IN YOUR DREAMS in capitals using the font Impact set on size 72
background white foreground null

add a drop shadow then lower the opacity to 50%

ok next make the top left circle swirl the active layer and floodfil with a yellow gradient I used one called yellow leaves, but any colour that goes with the tube will do.

with the selection still active add your full length tube again and again as a new layer each time, over the selected circles try and make the placement interesting....if you do this working right to left you wont have to mess with it, but if you work left to right you might have to erase some of the tubes that overlap in places....I suggest you work right to left ;)

once happy go to selections invert hit the delete key to remove the excess
then selections none

then go to layers - merge down till the circle swirl is on one layer again.

then duplicate it

then mirror and flip it and arrange over the bottom circle swirl, you can always delete the bottom circle swirl as you dont need it now anyway.

ok add your name, copyright and save your tag
I hope you understood and enjoyed this tutorial

and carefully outline the booby part you want to animate

make sure you follow the natural lines of the body
Photobucket
when you are happy double click to make the selection

then go to Effetcs - Distortion - Punch

and change the settings to 15,
if you wanted a more subtle effect then just change the strength to a lower number
Photobucket
then go to selections none

and copy merged and paste after current frame in Animation shop...

ok because animation shop throws a hissy fit when you try to save anything with a transparent background we are going to add a background colour, light colours work best, so white is pretty safe...

in animation shop go to -Animation - animation properties and change the colour to a light one like white or light pink...something to compliment your tag...

*older tut moved from my tut site *
Photobucket

open up circle cluster frame from the kit
move it down the canvas slightly
then add a tube of choice, duplicate it and slide the duplicate underneath the frame.
add a drop shadow to the duplicated tube ( the one under the frame)
Photobucket
now with the eraser tool erase anything sticking out from the bottom of the frame,
(i used the following settings)

Photobucket

then click on the top tube layer to activate it, and with the eraser tool erase the parts
of the tube that you dont want that are hanging out from the bottom of the frame.
*if you would lke to leave the ruffle of her shirt hanging over the bottom of the frame*
then what i did was, use the eraser tool for her body leaving the ruffle alone for the
minute...
then using your lassoo tool set on point to point using the following settings,
Photobucket
I usually zoom in to do this by about 300% to better see the edges. select the area around the ruffle that you want to remove, when happy with the seletion double click to close the selection and hit the delete button to remove the excess.
go to SELECTIONS - NONE

now to add a background for the frame, click inside the frame using the magic wand tool
go to selelctions - modify expand by 10 then copy and paste a paper as a new
layer, i used the blue one, go to selections invert and hit the delete key on your keyboad to remove the excess.
then slide this layer beneath the frame.
next i added the blue scattered hearts from the kit slide this layer beneath the frame
also, i added the following drop shadow.

Photobucket
this kit also comes with a cute font which i used to add my name,
just make a selection around the letter you want to use cut and paste in onto the canvas as a new layer.

merge all by going to Layers - merge all visible

then resize entire tag by 80% using smartsize then add your copyright and save your
tag as a .png with unique filename of your choice.
........................................................................
HANDY TIP

if you want to save a LAYERED version of your tag, then DONT merge it, before merging and resizing just save as a .psp file with a uniqe name.

i just did that to resize all the layers, as sometimes when resizing all layers slight movement problems can occur

thanks for trying my tut
