Arthur Crowe - Happy New Year

scraps used my New Years Freebie available on my Scraps blog HERE
I recoloured some of the elements gold, to match the tube..I will show you how.

tube is by Arthur Crowe called Happy Sexy New Years you must purchase his tubes to use them HERE
it comes with layers . and close ups for you to customise

I used 2 masks, download Vix_Masks 141-180 pack by VixPSP HERE 
download mask pack 40-50 by Vabs HERE
add masks to your mask folder..

......................................................................
open up a canvas roughly 600x600 pixels

open up paper1 (the red one) from my new years kit 

copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas

then apply Vix mask number 

by going to Layers -  Load/save mask to disk
select mask number176

 

click ok or load depending on your version of PSP

then go to layers- merge - merge group

open up glitter rays from the kit
recolour it by going to adjust  - hue and saturation -Colorize

 settings are as follows

duplicate this layer then go to Images -  mirror
then go to Layers- merge down

next add the clock frame from the kit as a new layer

 recolour this gold by going to adjust -hue and saturation - colourize settings are as before

then using your erasor tool set to size 250 hardness around 70

and erase the glitter rays from the layer below from inside the frame area

 open up paper4 (gold) from my new years kit 

copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas

then apply Vabs mask number 

by going to Layers -  Load/save mask to disk
select mask number 43

 

click ok or load depending on your version of PSP

then go to layers- merge - merge group

open up close up tube resize by 80% using smartsize
remove the excess that overhangs the clock frame

change blend mode of the tube to screen
by going to Layers- Properties and change the blend mode from normal to Screen

duplicate this tube layer

open up full length resize by 70%


open up word art1 recolour it by going to adjust- hue and saturation - colorize settings are as before

copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas
then duplicate 3 or 4 times to fill the background the length of the tube

then merge down till all word art is on one layer

change the blend mode to multiply,
 then slide the word art layer between the 2 closeup tube layers

open up paper1 (red) and use this as your pattern fill set at 50% for the background fill for your text
FOREGROUND SET TO NULL

I used the font Lamplighter Script set to 72

type out the text - Happy New Year

Add a drop shadow

add artist's copyright

save your tag as a png and you are done

open up a new canvas 600 x 600 pixels

open up one of the papers from either kit
I used paper2 from Winter Wonderland

copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas

then apply Vix big mask vix big masks2 no 16
 

and go to layers- merge - merge group
then merge group 
and adjust hue and saturation to zero

add the red glitter resize by 25% duplicate and arrange to suit

add sparkles1 from WinterWonderland and duplicate and arrange to suit

add glitter circle

add the large version of the tube
adjust hue and saturation to zero

add frame then click inside and 
go to selections - modify - expand by 3 
then selections invert and hit delete key on keyboard to remove excess

go to selections none

on tube layer go to effects - plugins - xero -radiance
with following settings



then add tube called baby reindeer close up, 
close off layers you d not want by clicking on the eye in the layers pallette, 
copy merged and paste as a new layer on to your canvas

then resize using smartsize by 80%

add drop shadow

add element1  fromTis the season resize by 80% then resize right by 10%
add shadow

add snowflake element from Tis the Season resize by 30 -40% add shadow
add curly ribbon resize by 70%

add elements 3 from Tis the season add shadow

add your name and copyright 
save your tag

 

Rac - HOHOHO Happy Xmas tut

scraps used - my xmas word art plus Wild about Purple kit available from

Tube is called Happy Xmas & comes with many colour varients to choose from
 BigMask by Vix from her blog HERE
set bigmasks2

open up a new canvas 600 x 600 pixels
Flood fill with white

open up paper11 from Wild about Purple kit 

copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas

then apply Vix big mask vix big masks2 no 16
 

and go to layers- merge - merge group

duplicate then image mirror this mask layer

add BG1 from the Wild about Purple kit resize by 80%

open up tube...
 to get the colours options I used


click the eye on layers pallette...the background, copyright, shadow layer, the dark skin, the antlers and btns layers

then unlock the blue hair layer and the HX to get the lilac fringe/bangs and the pink loetard layer and purple arms layers...

then copy merged the tube as a new layer

 then add tube again...I resized mine by 40%


go to to Layers - Properties -  a pop up will appear

change the blend mode to Screen and click ok
then duplicate the tube and go to Image - Mirror

copy and paste frame2 from the Wild about Purple kit
resize by 80% and add a drop shadow

arrange the tubes to either side of the frame.

add tube again (full size)
add a drop shadow and remove the excess overlapping the bottom of the frame

copy and paste the HOHOHO word art from my word art pack

add drop shadow

copy and paste the wintercluster1 from my word art pack

resize by 80%

add a drop shadow and arrange over the HOHOHO word art

copy and paste the starline1 from the kit, resize by 70% add a drop shadow and slide beneath the frame layer

add string with shadow from the kit , resize by 70%
and slide beneath the wintercluster layer

add  bow1 resize by 70% add a shadow

add the artist copyright and save your tag

 add masks to you masks folder

Open up a new canvas 650 x 650 pixels
 open up paper11 from the kit ,
resize by 80%  using smartsize
then copy and paste paper as a new layer

apply mask 365 by vix
by going to Layers - Load/save mask from disk and choose number365 mask...
click apply or ok. depending on your version of PSP

go to Layers -merge group
move over to the right side then dupliacte and go to image - mirror

copy and paste the element - snowflakes from the kit

  copy and paste SnowChristmastree from the kit resize by 80%

 copy and paste dust Sparkle from the kit

copy and paste the swirl from the kit

go to image - mirror

copy and paste SnowELe1 from the kit and go to image mirror

 
copy and paste the frame called SnowswirlFrame1
duplicate this layer

add tube and resize by 80%
add a drop shadow

 copy and paste element called - winterCluster2 from the kit
resize by 80%
 add a drop shadow

add 3 flowers from the kit, resize by about 30%
 add a drop shadow

add your name and copyright then save your tag.

Facebook Timeline cover piccie

hiya everyone,  Im loving the new timeline layout on facebook

and after seeing my cover photo I have had a few people ask me how I made it...
and a few ask me to make them one, so I thought i would do a tutorial on it....

open up a new canvas  around 850 x 315 pixles..it needs to be pretty big or it seems to distort...

open paper 13 from my snow is falling kit, or a paper of your choice...
now for neatness make sure the paper join is behind the tube so you do not see the join...

copy and paste the christmas tree corner from my snow is falling kit, 

arrange to the top left corner

 add a drop shadow

add tube to the right side , add a drop shadow



open up the WA ' happy new year' and select the word HAPPY
with your selection tool set to rectangle, make a selection around the word
then cut and paste it as a new layer onto your canvas -  add a shadow
add word art 'christmas' with the cluster overlay

add snow sparklies from my snow is falling kit -
and arrange to the left over the christmas tree corner

duplicate and again move to the left side and arrange to your liking

add your copyright

add some text to personalise it to you..
I used Dr Carbfred font for the one above set to size 48

then copy and paste frame from kit
resize by 80%

add drop shadow


add swirl2 as a new layer,
add  a drop shadow


add red leaves2 resize by 70%
then rotate right 90 degrees - add a shadow

add tag resize by 80%
add a shadow


add white branch add a shadow

add a paper from the kit
go to layers -Arrange -  send to bottom
this will move the paper layer to the bottom

with your selection tool set to rectangle -
draw out  a selection see below for screenshot

 

and then go to selections invert and hit the delete key to remove the excess

then add tubes of choice, to the frame
and remove the excess each time,  slide each of these layers beneath the frame layer

then add a full length tube for the front
and add a shadow

go to selections none

Copy and paste the red paper as a new layer

go to layers - arrange - send to bottom
this will move the paper layer to the bottom

add your copyright and save your tag

New Years

for this tutorial I am using a template from Missy at DIVINE INTENTIONS

NEW YEARS WORD ART FREE FROM MY BLOG

SUPPLIES INCLUDED glitter tiles and mask HERE

FREE New Years scrap kit made by me HERE

UNZIP ALL THE SUPPLIES

Place the mask in your masks folder before you begin...

open up the template, delete the watermark by missy layer and the white background layer

then go to iMAGE - CANVAS SIZE and use these settings

next make sure you are on the rounded rectangle bit 2 layer and go to Layers - merge down

this will merge the 2 rounded edges of the template togther on 1 layer.

open up CT-paper5
and copy and paste as a new layer - move to the bottom by going to Layers - arrange - send to bottom
now its time to apply the mask...
go to Layers - Load/save mask - load mask from disk with these setttings

then go to layers Merge Group

NOW click on the rounded edges layer that you merged earlier on, and 

go to Selections - select all, - selections - modify - expand by 1

then copy and paste CT-paper7 into selection
Selections none - add a drop shadow using these settings

 

now copy and paste the red glitter spill as a new layer, and resize using smartsize 

by 70% and arrange to the left..

then duplicate this layer and go to Image Flip and arrange to the right.

now merge down and add a drop shadow using the same settings as before.

now time to glitter the frames..
open up the glitter tile i provided in suplplies...for this tut i ised Silver, leave it open in psp...

now make sure you are on layer Frame 1
select the frame by going to Selections - select all - float

then go to Selctions - modify - expand by 1

and then choose your paintbucket tool and for the forground of your material palette (where you would normally change the colour of your text) click on the patterns tab and find your glitter tile.

use these settings and click ok...

 

now just floodfill your frame with the glitter.
go to selections none add a drop shadow as before then

repeat this process for all 3 frames....

now now its time to add your images....

make sure your background frame1 is your active layer go to Selections - select all

then copy and paste as a new layer the image of your choice ,

go to Selections invert and hit the delete key.

then selections none ..

repeat this process for all 3 frames - go to merge down twice so that all 3 images are on the same layer

then slide this layer with all the images underneath the frames. 

add a bow or ribbon of choice from the kit.

i resized mine by 70% using smartsize and added the same drop shadow as before

and with your selection tool just delete the excess.

now add the new years word art, i resized mine by 70% using smartsize then go to Adjust Sharpness - sharpen and again added the same drop shadow.

add the atist © and your name 

Then just save as a png. and your are done!..thanks for trying my tutorial

open a new canvas 650 x 650 with a white background

Lets start - open paper 7 its the dark grey with white spots paper
  go to Layers -  load save mask -  load mask from disk  , select the mask called -WSL-mask 82

click load to apply it

go to - merge group

open snowflakes from the kit- copy and paste as a new layer

copy and paste winter-WA1 snow circle as a new layer -

 resize by 80% using smartsize

open snowswirlframe1 copy and paste as a new layer

copy and paste winter tree as a new layer

add a shadow , i used the following settings



the tube I used comes with a bonus close up, use that...

add as a new layer add a shadow then slide this layer beneath the tree layer

copy and paste winterFlakesWbow as a new layer

add a shadow as before
then duplicate and move this duplicate tube layer to the top layer

next, choose your eraser tool, i used the following settings

we are going to blend the tube layer with the swirl

so on the top tube I simply brushed the tube a couple of times where her skirt and legs were to erase it
so that you can see the swirl layer coming through then go to the bottom tube layer and do it again,
untill you are happy with the effect...

do not worry if you make a mistake just click the undo button and try again....

then add the words my friends are flakes in Porkys font

colour's used - background fill  blue html code #6e7c87 -  foreground white stroke 2

add copyright info

you could just save now as a .png
or to animate....continue

make the top layer active then add a new raster layer
and go to Effects - Plugins -Vanderlee -  Snowflakes

depending how much snow you want, you can change the settings,
I used the following

but if you want more snow change the amount slider
and if you want bigger flakes of snow change the maximum size slider
but as i said these were my settings..
click ok to apply the plugin

then go to copy merged and paste as new animation into animation shop

back to PSP
go to edit undo snowflakes

then apply it again but this time slide the random seed slider to 350
 go to copy merged - and paste into animation shop after current frame

back to PSP
apply the plugin one final time, this time slide the random seed to 450

again go to copy merged - and paste into animation shop after current frame

edit -  select all - then go to frame properties and
change the display time to 20 to slow the animation down a little...
save as a gif and your done , thanks for trying my tutorial, Diane x

for this tutorial we will be adding animation so floodfill your canvas with

grey or white whichever is your preference...

(when working with animation its very difficult to save it

as a gif without a background, as it tends to end up

with an ugly white smudges aroud the edges if you try

to save with a transparent background)

OPEN UP A NEW CANVAS 600 X 600

floodfill with Grey or white

Copy and paste paper2 from kit , the black one with snowflakes on it.

apply mask - WSL_MASK144

WITH THESE SETTINGS

Layers- merge group

R0TATE - free rotate BY 90%

now copy and paste paper9 from the kit apply mask53

go to layers - merge group

Copy and paste the NY-clock frame from the kit as a

new layer resize using smartsize by 80%

add a shadow

copy and paste wordart1 from the kit slide this layer to the bottom layer

copy and paste the NY-glitter rays and arrange to the bottom of the canvas

slide this layer to the bottom layer

add one red and one silver firework from the kit

resize both using smartsize by 60% Then merge those

two fireworks so they are on the same layer....by going to merge down.

these should be arranged on top of the frame layer

copy and paste the NY foliage resize by 80% and arrange on the canvas

add the red bow from the kit, resize by 80%

add a tube of choice i used a free one but you need

permission, MASUMI MAX HERE

I am a member of creative misfits PSP Taggers forum which has permission and

the tubes group is HERE if you would like to join this awsome group

now slide your tube beneath the frame layer,  you will

see that the hat is beneather the frame , i didnt

want that so duplicate the tube and slide the

duplicate to the top layer and erase with your eraser

tool on an 80% opacity setting the lower body so that she appears to be behind

the foliage but her upper body head and hat is in front of the frame.

add your copyright

now make your fireworks the active layer simply by

clicking on them in your layers pallette.

go to Effects – Plugins - Alienskin xenofex 2 – constellation

With the settings below:

then go to Image - copy merged- and paste into Animation shop as a new animation

back to PSP and click undo,

again go to Effects – Plugins - Alienskin xenofex 2– constellation,

and click the random button,

go to Image - copy merged - and paste into Animation after current frame

back to PSP and click undo,

Repeat this process one more time so that you have 3 frames in your animation.

save as a gif and your done

new animated tutorial by me using Clarey's new scrap kit - Christmas Town

mask is my own, you want mask 4 get it HERE

Open up a new canvas size 650 x 600

flood fill with white, (its just easier when saving animation)

open paper4 from the kit its the blue paper, copy and paste as a new layer

then apply the mask using these settings

add the snow3 from the kit, add a shadow

copy and paste the snowhill from the kit,

then add the 4 houses,

you want to resize the 2 outer ones by 60% and the 2 inner ones by 50% this gives the illusion that they are smaller and therefore further away
ADD A DROP SHADOW AFTER EACH

add a tree from the kit, resize by 40% add a shodow, then duplicate twice and arrange to your liking.

now copy and paste a reindeer, resize by 50%

add the bird, resize by 20%

add a shadow after each

add the snowman - resize by 60%

add a drop shadow then add your copyright and name
the reason I add them now is so you dont have to fiddle with your animation afterwards

..........................................................

ok for the animation of the snowman's eye,

firSt open up animation shop and copy merged over to animation shop as a new animation simply take your selection tool on these circle settings see my screen shot

select an area of the snowmans body just slightly larger than his eye.

then copy and paste the selection as a new layer and place over the right eye of the snowman to obsure it...

go to selections none

then take your pen tool and using these settings shown below, draw a straight line for the wink of his eye.

you want your foreground set to black and background null

.............................

go to copy merged and paste into animation shop after current frame

still in animation shop go to edit - select all then change the frame properties to 50

do this by clicking on animation - frame properties and change the display time to 50

this slows down the wink.

save as a unique file name as a gif and you are done
