Vix big masks2 number 017 from her blog HERE

 add mask to your mask folder
.............................
OPEN A NEW CANVAS  600 X 600 PIXELS

open paper 1 from the kit resize by 

 copy and paste paper onto your canvas
then apply vix halloween mask 017

by going to Layers - load/save mask from disk 

choose the correct mask and click load or apply.
 go to Layers - Merge - Merge Group

resize by 90%

then dupicate this mask layer
go to image - flip
then go to Adjust - Hue and Saturation - colourize
move both sliders down to zero this makes it greyscale

now open up frame
rotate right by 90

 go to Image - flip
resize by 70% using smartsize

then make the frame greyscale also by going to
Adjust - Hue and Saturation - colourize
move both sliders down to zero

 next click inside the frame with your magix wand tool
go to Selections- modify- Expand
open up paper 5 from the kit
copy and paste onto your canvas as a new layer
arrange to your liking, I arranged the paper so i could see the moon.
once happy with placement go to selections invert and hit delete key to remove the excess

then still with your selection active
copy and paste the broken glass from the kit
and hit delete key to remove the excess

go to selections none

add a drop shadow to the frame layer

open up blue ribbon2 from the kit
resize by 60% using smartsize
then rotate right by 90
copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas
add a drop shadow

open up gem2 from the kit
resize by 15% using smartsize
copy and paste as a new layer and place over the ribbon
add a drop shadow

now add tube of choice
I greyscaled this particular one by going to

Adjust - Hue and Saturation - colourize
move both sliders down to zero

add a drop shadow

then  slide the opacity down  to 50%
on the tube so you can see through it
and with your selection tool carefully select the areas of her leg that overlap the frame
hit the delete key to remove the excess

slide opacity back up to 100%
then duplicate the tube
 go to Layers - Properties change the blend mode from normal to soft light

add copyright and your name
font I used is Noir-et-Blanc

 

Rac - Devilish

Here is my latest tag and a quick and easy tutorial

 

scraps used was from 2 freebies by me called called Bewitched HERE
and Angelic or Devilish HERE

masks are by VixPSP from the big masks 2 collection on her blog
  mask number 019 from HERE

tube is by Ismael Rac from you must purchase his tubes HERE

open a canvas 650 X650 pixels floodfill with white

add the blue paper from the bewitched kit
 and apply bigmask1 - number19 by vix
by going to Layers - Load/save mask from disk and choose number06 mask...
click apply or ok. depending on your version of PSP

 

go to Layers -merge group

 add tube full size then change the blend mode to screen

by going to layers - properties - 

a pop up box will appear with a drop down menu change from normal to screen

add tube again this time resize by 40% this should make the image small enough to see her full length

add a drop shadow
add double heart frame resize using smartsize by 50%

 add word art, no need to resize
Font I used was Rat Infested Mailbox 

 size 72 font black background foreground null

add artist copyright and save your tag.

TonyT - Vamp Juice tutorial

this one is called Vampire

scraps used were by Pimpd Designs - Bad Vamp which is a PTU kit but if you dont have it then probably any red and black themed kit with nice papers will suffice.  

Template by Dee called DDJuice from her blog HERE

first open up the template

so on each layer go to Selections - select all - float then copy and paste a paper as a new layer
 then go to selections invert and hit the delete key to remove the excess paper.
then go to selections none

repeat for each layer of the template.and fill each layer of the template with a paper of choice,
alternate the back and red on each layer

then add the tube, resize the full tube by 35% and add a drop shadow

 select all - float the top square of the template  and add the tube again and for the close up shot

go to selections invert - and hit the delete key on the keyboard to delete the excess.

then apply the pluginby going to Effects - Plugins -  Xero Radiance
and use the following settings on the close up image

add elements of choice from the kit you are using..
I used a moon and added that behind the word art

I also added  glitter spills and a ragged flower beneath the round circle of the template.

I filled the word art with the glitter from the kit.
I used  Neogrey Regular font for my name font size 48

black background and a red glitter fill for the foreground set to stroke 1

add the artist copyright and save your tag.

add the mask to your masks folder

open up a new canvas roughly 650x650 pixels

first open up paper called CandysTreats-SpookyGlittermix4 from the kit add as a new layer onto your canvas
then add the mask by going to Layers - Load/save mask - Load mask from disk
select the mask called Vix_mask250 and click load or apply depending on our version of PSP.
Layers- merge- merge group

That should give you a nice background to work on...

now in the scrap kit folder look for the frame called - CandysTreats-SPOOKYframe2
copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas.

then with your selection tool, select the entire left half of the frame
and hit the delete key on your keyboard to delete the excess.

go to Selections none


now copy and paste your image/tube of choice, if using the same one as me, you will find this to be a VERY large tube...so resize it using smartsize by about 30% and slide this tube layer beneath the frame layer..


then make the frame layer the active layer, and using your magic wand tool, hold the shift key down and select both openings in the frame at the same time...then go to selections invert


now make the tube layer the active layer and hit the delete key to remove the excess.


go to selections none

duplicate the tube/image layer and change the blend mode to overlay..

add elements of choice from the kit,
 I used the spooky tree, just select the trunk of the tree with your selection tool and hit the delete key to remove the trunk., add the black glitter spill , add the flowers from the kit
  slide all these layers beneath the bottom image layer. and add a drop shadow for depth to each of these layers.

add the green tie and orange bow... add shadows for depth.

the cloud goes over the overlay tube layer but underneath the frame.

then add the full tube resize as needed

add a drop shadow for depth.

Wink of an Eye - how to animate an eye wink

things you will need:

PSP and animation shop

and a fairly good knowledge of both, as we will be working with layers

this is just one method of simulating an eye wink, there are other's which i may cover later

This tutorial hopefully will teach you 1 way to simulate the wink or a blink of an eye....

see below for an example of another tag I made using the same method...all you really need is a good close up tube of a pretty eye with nice lashes...

place the brushes into your brushes folder so that they are ready to use later

..................................................................................
open a NEW canvas 500 x 500
i like room to work.... Floodfill with white
open up Lace2 (the white one) from the kit, resize by 70% using smartsize
copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas

add the following drop shadow, make sure you change the colour to a Colour from your tag. I used Green colour HTML no #38797a

Ccopy and paste FLOWER5 onto your canvas, center it in your canvas.
resize by 90%
add a drop shadow I used
Horizontal 2 vertical 2, opacity 80 blur 8
do the same for flower8 rotate it right by 5
copy and paste notepad1 from the kit, rezie by 50% then rotate right by 15%
slide this layer below the 2 flowers...so that it just pokes out from the bottom of them..
open up frame5 from the kit and resize by50% using smartsize, copy and paste onto your canvas, center it..

open up the chrome heart from the kit, resize the heart by 70% using smartsize
copy and paste it onto your canvas, then rotate right by 10%
position the heart so that it overlaps the frame like mine...
select the eraser tool using these settings

and erase the right hand corner of the chrome heart, and the top point..see below... 

copy and paste the blackFeather2 from the kit add a drop shadow, then drag this layer below the 2 flowers but above the lace...arrange it so that it peeks ut from the right corner, then duplicate this feather,
go to Image - mirror, one should now have appeared on the left corner, go to merge down..and eraser the bottom of the feathers, so you only see the top.
now add your imaage, if using the one i used, resize it by 70% then copy and paste it onto your canvas, slide it underneath the frame layer....when happy with position, remove the excess, you can either use the eraser tool as before,
or make the frame layer the active layer click on the magic wand tool and click inside the frame.go to Selection modify - expand by 4 then go to Selections Invert, and then make the image layer the active layer. and hit the delete key.
either way will remove the excess....if you used the selections way now go to selections none. if you used the eraser way there is no need as you have nothing selected.

then add a drop shadow to the frame layer
same as before
add the artist © and your name....
font used for my name was SHARK RANDOM FUN - with these settings

foreground set to this colour #e3dcc2
background set to this colour #3b7c7e

add your name using the settings above,.......................................
now onto the actual animation part of making her eye wink....
obviously you could do this to both eyes to make her blink too...
BEFORE we start to animate...go to Edit - copy merged and paste your tag into animation shop..
so you now have 1 frame with her eyes open....
back to PSP
make your image /tube layer your active layer...by simply clicking on it.
select your paintbrush tool, now zoom in so you can see clearly and using the round brush head on the following settings,

carefully paint over the eye , (I used the colour black) so that it looks half closed.... see below....


copy merged and paste into animation shop after current frame...
back to PSP
now we are going to colour in the rest of the eye in so that it appears to be completely closed, use the same brush settings as before...
once you are happy find the brush SK furryFibre3 you downloaded and set your brush to the settings below..

now carefully add lashes to the bottom of the now closed eye...
this might take a few tries to get it right...if you go wrong just click undo and try again...


zoom back out to take a look once your done
if you are happy, copy merged once again after current frame into animation shop
still in animation shop we are going to adjust the timing ...
do this by going to Animation - Frame properties and change the display time to 200..


now view the animation you should have a nice wink like mine!
save it as a gif and you are done.

Wicked - halloween tut - how to animate smoke/flame

For this tut you will need PSP, Animation shop and Eye candy 4000

ok onto the tutorial
unzip your suplies, ready for use...

OPEN A NEW CANVAS
600X300
you could make it smaller but i didnt, so we will go with the size i made it..lol
open up ct-moonlightpaper2 and copy and paste it onto your canvas as a new layer...
copy and paste the grey defying gravity ribbon as a new layer onto your canvas,
resize using smartsize by 60% and place towards the top of your canvas.

duplicate this ribbon and place so that both ribbons now cover the top of your canvas,
if unsure see my tag.
now go to Layers - Merge - Merge down
so that the 2 ribbons are merged onto the same layer
repeat for the green defying gravity ribbon. and place at the bottom of the canvas.

now copy and paste the ct-Wicked Wordart2
resize by 50% using smartsize. and add a drop shadow, by going to

Effects - 3d effects - drop shadow. and use the following settings.

now add the close up of the 2 Ted Hammond tubes that you get when you buy this tube from CILM.
and place onto your canvas, see my tag for palcement. add the same dropshadow as before...
now add your © information, and your name. for my name i used Ravenscroft font set at the following settings
Background colour black, foreground colour white
font size 72 Stroke 2 anti alias set to sharp.

now add a small grey border bu going to Image- add borders and use these settings, make sure you change the colour to grey... 

ok this part you may find a little tricky if your new to PSP, but we need to tube out the cauldron from the full length tube ....
ok with your freehand tool get rid of the girl we dont need her,


your settings for the freehand tool should be as follows
dont worry it doesnt have to be perfect this time, so dont get too close to the cauldron.
do this by left clicking around the cauldron,with your freehand tool, you should get little marching ants when you join the start point and end point ....double click to end...SEE BELOW...






cut and paste as a new image, now add a new layer and floodfill with a contrasting colour so you can see clearly, i used red.
zoom in to about 300%,
make sure your cauldron layer is active, by clicking on it.
now we want to tube out any residual girl from the cauldron.....you will see in my preview, i have a bit of leg to remove,


select your freehand tool again with the same settings as before. and carefully go round the image outline that you want to remove
hit the delete key twice. this will remove the excess you want to get rid of.
if you look at my preview, you will see what i removed, you do the same.
for the purpose of this tut, do not worry about her foot at the bottom you will not see it in this tag.....
fiddly tubing is over,lol

ok now just copy and paste the cauldron onto your tag....see my tag for placement
now add a drop shadow same as before.......................
now its time to animate....

using your freehand selection tool again, select the green smoke coming from the cauldron, SEE BELOW..
while selected, now and go to
Effects - Plugins - EYE CANDY 4000 - HSB NOISE
and use the following settings....
now its time to animate....

CLICK OK

then go to Selections none...

and go to Layers - copy merged
copy and paste Merged layers into animation shop...as a new animation.
*go back into PSP*
click the UNDO button twice...
you should still have your selection, apply the filter/plugin again with the same settings but this time click random seed once.
click ok
then go to selections none...
Lyers - copy merged..then paste into animation shop AFTER CURRENT FRAME
*go back into PSP*
click the UNDO button twice...
repeat the filter/plugin 1 last time, using the random seed button.

click ok
then go to selections none...
Lyers - copy merged..then paste into animation shop AFTER CURRENT FRAME
you should now have an animation of 3 frames.....
i want to slow the animation down a little
so go to Edit - select all,
then go to Animation - frame properties.
and change the display time to 20, click ok
to check your animation looks ok click the play animation button, its this one see below

if you cant find it, then just go to View - Animation...lol if it looks ok then you are ready to save as a gif and you are done...

Queen of the Night tutorial

For this tut I am using the fantastic artwork of Keith Garvey

For this tut you will need PSP,

you will need to Unzip any supplies 

OPEN A NEW CANVAS 650 x 450 resolution 72

copy and paste SpookyGlitterBlack1 paper from the kit as a new layer onto your canvas
open up frame6 from the kit,
go to image - mirror then
adjust hue and saturation - both to zero

adjust the brightness and contrast 

brightness to 8 contrast to 38
copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas

open up the glitter spill resize by 60%
copy and paste as a new layer and slide below the frame, arrange to left, then duplicate and arrange to right slightly lower than the left
resize moon from kit by 40% and arrange to the right, slide layer below the frame layer
open up cloud1 from the kit, go to image - flip
then copy and paste as a new layer below the frame layer arrange on the canvas over the moon, duplicate the cloud and go to image - mirror
resize by 90% then arrange on the canvas so that it peeks out of the bottom of the frame
open up bats, resize by 20%
add a drop shadow i used vertical 2 horizontal 2 opacity 90 blur 6
open up the spiderweb resize by 40%
add drop shadow as before ahe and arrange to the left o that it peeks out from the bottom left of the frame
open up orange and black flowerstem arrange to the bottom of the frame and with your erasor tool erase the parts ou do not need....
so far you should have something like this....

open up spookyribbonBlack, go to image - mirror,
resize by 80%
with your freehand selections tool
here is my settings

make the ribbon shorter by selecting the portion you want to remove , double click to close the selection then delete the excess by hitting the delete button on your keyboard

add a drop shadow i used horizontal 3 vertical 2 opacity 90 blur 7

open up flower2 resize by 30% add a shadow arrange over the bow of the ribbon

open up SpookyGlitterMix4 paper, make a rectangle selection wth your selection tool, make the seelction almost the width of the paper but only select 2 glitter lines, then cut and paste your selection on to your canvas, now resize by 50% ad a drop shadow an arrange under the ribbon

so far this is what you should have

 

for the text i ued LDJ Jilly Nilly font - type out the text Queen of the Night

font size 48

add a shadow, then add your name

now for the tubes...
you do not have to use black and white tubes, i didnt...

I used colour ones and made them black and grey

copy and paste your tube as a new layer, i Started with Kitty kat close up resized by 80%
adjust hue and saturation just like you did with the frame...

then the brightness and contrast just as before

then do the same for 2 more tubes from the same artist ..arrange them all within the frame..

next make the frame the active layer...

then select the magic wand selection tool, go to selections - modify - expand by 10 then selections invert and make the tube layer your active layer and hit the delete key to delete the excess...

now go to selections - none

repeat for each tube...make sure the frame is over the tubes so no edges show...smply by sliding the tube layers below te frame layer

then add a drop shadow to your frame

add the artist's copyright and your name and save your tag

 

new tutorial from me - A Little Batty

free scrap kit - Bewitched by me get it from my blog HERE

open up paper6 from the kit the striped one, resize by 75%
copy and paste onto your canvas as a new layer
apply the mask using these settings



the go to Layers - Merge group

add a drop shadow i used

vertical 2 horizontal 2 opacity 67 blur 3

open up frame 3 from the kit,

click inside the the frame

go to selections - modify - expand by 2

now open up paper called paper11 resize by 70%

copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas, go to selections invert, hit the delete key

then selections none

slide the paper layer beneath the frame layer..
now add a drop shadow to the frame layer,

i used vertical 2 horizontal 2 opacity 70 blur 5

open up the star's resize by 75% copy and paste as a new layer,

add the same drop shadow as before slide this layer underneath the frame and paper layer's

open up the string resize by 70% arrange to the bottom of the frame

copy and paste your tube of choice, resize if needed
slide the tube beneath the frame layer,

then duplicate the tube layer and slide this one to the top

now to add to the illusion that she is perched on the frame
use your erasor tool to erase the part of her tail on the top tube

so its the bit near her butt where the frame overlaps.
the bat is part of rachel huntington's tube package that goes with the tube i used

if using the same tube...you could use add the bat from the kit if not add your name i used nightmare 5 font
font size 72 with a very dark blue background fill, beige foreground fill, stroke 2

add the artists ©
Save your tag as a JPEG  or a PNG and your done!

new tut from me - SPOOKYLICIOUS

For this tut I am using the fantastic and FREE artwork of Popeye Wong

OPEN A NEW CANVAS 600 x 600 resolution 72
open up frame3 resize by 70%
holding down the shift key click inside each of the 4 frames
go to selections - modify - expand by 8
now open up paper called SpookyGlitterpurple1 resize by 50%
copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas, go to selections invert, hit the delete key
then selections none

slide the paper layer beneath the frame layer..

now add a drop shadow to the frame layer,
i used vertical 2 horizontal 2 opacity 70 blur 6
open up the moon resize by 25% copy and paste as a new layer,
add the same drop shadow

open up the haunted house resize by 35%
add the same drop shadow open up cloud1 from the kit, resize by
45% arrange over the moon reduce the opacity in the layers palette down to 70%
open up cloud1 again from the kit, resize by 55% arrange to the bottom of the frame
to the left

now copy and paste pumpkin resize by 20% , add a shadowopen up the bats from the kit and resize by 25% arrange over the moon, add a shadow

open up the purple scattered flowers from the kit resize by 70%, add a shadow and
arrange to the bottom

open the ghost from the kit, go to image - mirror then resize by 15% arrange near the house.

open up the green spookylicious word art from the kit, resize by 70%,

go to adjust - sharpen then add a shadow

open up the spider resize by 20% add a shadow...

selet the ghost layer, go to layers- duplicate then got to image - mirror
and arrange to the left of the word art

open up glitter spill, resize by 70% go to layers - arange - send to bottom

duplicate and move over to the right
open up the tube you got from popeye wong's website - called the other side at sight
go to image - mirror then add a drop shadow, now copy and paste onto the
canvas as a new layer...

arrange the tube on the layers pallete so that the tube is on top of the frame but
under the cloud , so that the cloud has the illusion of mist....

to get rid of the excess tube simply make certain that your tbe layer is the active layer, choose your selections tool,simply select the area you want to remove...and hit delete key
go to selections none

add the artists ©

Save your tag as a JPEG  or a PNG and your done!
